a global database of platform worker protest actions
What Is The
Leeds Index?
The Leeds Index is a project run by researchers at the University of Leeds, based at the ESRC Digital Futures at Work Research Centre (Digit) and the Centre for Employment Relations Innovation and Change (CERIC).
We have an interest in platform work and how trade unions and other labour actors defend their interests regarding their work.
We closely observe any form of contestation of platform workers around the globe. We are interested in documenting all sorts of actions from strikes and log-offs to demonstrations or legal court cases.
The Leeds Index documents where, when and how workers act against a platform company and the motives that drive such action.
Our Resources
We have published a number of reports and academic papers based on the Leeds Index.
Please do get in contact if you can contribute events that we have not covered.
